Device modernization

The plan

The plan

Five additions. No invented specs.

Each item below is in scope for the modernization. Sizes, battery life, radio standards, and a new regulatory status are not set on this page, because they have not been published.

Screen and live status

LCD

The updated unit carries its own display. The person running a session can read status on the device.

Real-time updates

Temperature and session state are meant to update while the session is in progress, so the reading on the device and the reading elsewhere stay in step.

Power and a link out

External replaceable battery

Power sits in a pack that comes off the outside of the unit. A spent pack can be exchanged without opening the housing.

Mobile hotspot

When the room has no network of its own, the unit can share a connection.

Communication suite

The suite is the set of links around that connection: status to a clinic system, and status to a phone, using the same session the device is already running.

Where this stands. The communication suite, real-time updates, LCD, mobile hotspot, and external replaceable battery are the modernization. They are not features of the device the manufacturer describes for use today. This site does not add a clearance, a price, or a ship date.
